Have you ever visited the High Line in New York City? This is an elevated parkway that uses the old railway line; now converted in to a pedestrian walkway. If you are looking for someplace that affords views of the river and the westside of Manhattan, a place for a picnic or just a nice 20 minute walk, this is the place for you. Granted,, this walkway gets very busy on Saturdays, but what a great place to people watch as well.
